Our Threat Image Projection (TIP) application is a management tool that uses extensive image libraries of false threats to occasionally project onto real scans.
Administrators can test their operators’ readiness, responsiveness and keep them alert, as well as keep track of individual and unit performance.
Test Readiness and Measure Performance
Response times are recorded and performance can be assessed based on operator false positive reports. This app does not affect the functionality of the scanner, its features or the operator’s interface, and the operator is informed before manually screening the user’s item that this was a TIP drill.
Keep Operators Alert
Threat Image libraries are based on your Civil Aviation Authority. The library can be modified, with additional threats or contraband added as needed by system administrators.
Flexibility and functionality are paramount with this feature, allowing administrators to set multiple parameters based on your needs. For example, the baggage proportions parameter controls the number of VotiTIP™ images displayed in relation to the number of baggage or objects scanned as a percentage value.
To avoid Threat Image Projection frequency from being predictable, a diversification range option is also adjustable in combination with the proportion parameter.
A Random option is also available to automatically determine an unpredictable proportion and diversification range for the scans. Administrators can cycle through settings over a period of time to keep operators alert and engaged.
Reaction Time Analytics
To further analyze operator efficacy, key time measurements are collected within VotiTIP™ that can be used to assess performance and training.
Initial decision period is the length of time that the projected threat is displayed on the monitor based on the speed of the conveyor belt and the operator reacts and stops the conveyor belt.
The threat decision period is measured as from the moment the operator notices the image and stops the conveyor. This second parameter provides the operator with additional time to analyze the image and mitigate the threat appropriately.
Helping operators stay alert and facilitating randomized manual screenings is essential for safety. Contact us to see VotiTIP™ in action!
