Karna Gupta – Chairman
Karna is a well-seasoned technology executive with over 35 years of global industry experience. Currently serving in several Boards. He has served as President and CEO of Information Technology Association of Canada; CEO of Certicom; President of Sitraka Mobility; President and CMO roles at Comverse and held Senior Executive roles at both Eftia and Bell Canada. Karna holds a Master’s of Business Administration degree from Concordia University. Karna was also awarded Queens Diamond Jubilee Medal.
Rory Olson – President, Chief Executive Officer, Director
Rory is an accomplished entrepreneur and executive with a proven track record of success having founded, restructured, and operated numerous organizations from start-up stage to mature public companies.
As CEO at VOTI Detection, Rory has revitalized the company, operating in a rapidly growing $1.8B global security market and delivering 700% revenue growth within just 2 years, setting it on a path for accelerated growth and profitability.Rory holds a Bachelor of Commerce in Finance from Concordia University.
William Awad – Founder, Director
William sits on the board of directors of VOTI Inc. and also holds the position of Chief Technical Officer. He has over twenty years of experience in research and development, electronics design and manufacturing. Before founding VOTI, William was President and CEO of LPS International, a technology firm specializing in business applications and video-security systems. He holds a Masters of Engineering (Electronic) from CIT.
David Crevier – Director
David holds degrees in civil and common law from McGill University, is a member of the Quebec Bar, and has been practicing business law since 1975. His main focus has been in the area of public and private financing and equity investment, and he has been associated with a number of very successful ventures in the resource and technology sectors.
Jim Fleck – Director
Jim is an entrepreneur, business professor and philanthropist with a distinguished career in the private, academic and government sectors. An active proponent of the Arts, he continues to hold several positions of Chairman and President on many cultural councils, and foundations. Jim holds a Bachelor’s from the University of Western Ontario, a Doctorate of Business Administration and Finance from Harvard University, in addition to being a Doctor of Laws Honoris Causa by the University of Toronto and Doctor of Sacred Letters Honoris Causa by the University of Trinity College.
Neil Hindle – Director
Neil is a veteran executive with extensive business management experience. He built his expertise through both ownership of and investment in a number of companies, including start-ups, early stage and mid-size businesses, and grew his knowledge to include software and data management, as well as international business expansion. Neil holds a Bachelor of Commerce from Queen’s University and a Graduate Diploma in Public Accountancy from McGill University. He became a Chartered Accountant in 1980 and is a Member of the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants, l’Ordre des comptables agréés du Québec and the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Ontario
Joel King – Director
Joel King is a retired lawyer, an entrepreneur and philanthropist. Since leaving his practice in 1999, Joel now devotes his time and energy to community work as well as to investments in both the public and private sector. He and his wife sit on the board of directors representing Hope & Cope at the Montreal Jewish General Hospital Foundation. He earned his undergraduate degree in Science, followed by a B.C.L. (Civil Law) and an LL. B (Common Law) all from McGill University. He was subsequently licensed to practice law in both Quebec and Ontario.
